Brave GNU World 제 12 호에서 언급했듯이 많은 개발자들이 너무 바빠서 필자와 연락을 하지 못하고 있습니다. 필자가 연락을 하면 그들은 보통 그런 이야기를 하는데 연락이 계속되게 하기 위해선 "약간의 압력"이 필요합니다.

누구든지 관심있는 사람이 Brave GNU World에서 빠지지 않도록 관리하는 "Brave GNU World 스카우트"가 될 수 있습니다. 여러분이 할 일은 정해진 질문을 메인테이너에게 메일로 보내는 일이 전부입니다. 지난 한 해동안 필자는 다음과 같은 질문들로 해당 프로젝트의 상황을 가늠할 수 있었고 그렇기 때문에 아래 질문의 효과는 증명되었습니다. 그러므로 여러분이 "멋진 GNU 세상에 실을 만하다."고 생각하는 프로젝트의 메인테이너에게 아래와 갈은 내용으로 메일을 보내십시오.

INTRODUCTION:

 These are the standard questions for the Brave GNU World column that
 can be found online at http://brave-gnu-world.org. 

 It has become customary to fill out these questions and mail them
 back to <column@gnu.org> in order to give me a good
 feeling/impression about a project. This also applies to
 non-technical projects, btw. 

 Please feel free to be as verbose as you want as more information
 will allow me to gain a more complete picture which I can then use to
 write a more complete feature.


QUESTIONS:

 * What is it?

 * Who would use it?

 * Why would they use it instead of similar projects?

 * (Programming) language used in this project?

 * Special features/strengths?

 * Special problems?

 * Who is working on it?

 * History of the project?

 * Why did the project start?

 * Current status of the project?

 * Plans for the close and distant future?

 * Do you need help? If so: of what kind?

 * Interesting/fun stories that might juice up the story?

 * Website/FTP addresses?

 * License?!

 * Standard documents to read in this context?

 * Anything you would like to see mentioned?

 * Answer to a question I forgot?

 Everything you want me to read should be sent to me by
 mail because very often I will take my mail with me and 
 read it where I don't have access to the net.

그런데 이러한 메일이 개발자에게 스팸 메일이 되게 하지는 마십시오. 메일을 한두번 받게 되면 자신의 프로젝트에 많은 관심이 있음을 알게됩니다. 하지만 동일한 사람에게 같은 메일을 10번이나 보낼 경우 그것은 괴롭히는 것이 됩니다.

아, 그리고 개발자나 메인테이너가 직접 이 질문들에 대한 답을 작성해서 필자에게 보내주는 것은 물론 대단히 환영하는 바입니다! .-)
