SafetyNet - Keeps critical processes running

SafetyNet is a small script that makes sure critical processes are continuously running. It can be installed and configured in under five minutes, and puts virtually no load on a system while running transparently in the background.

When it finds a problem, it automatically restarts the process and verifies that it is running again. If the process does not start again, the program notifies the sysadmin by email.
