Xmcd - CD player utilities

Xmcd is a full-featured CD playing and ripping utility package that includes 'xmcd,' a CD player for the X Window System using the Motif GUI, and 'cda,' a command line driven text mode CD player which also features a curses-based, screen oriented mode. These two programs also work as a CD ripper so you can extract full-quality digital audio data from CDs and play them real time, save them to files or pipe them to other utilities for processing. They support WAV, AU, AIFF, MP3 and Ogg Vorbis file formats.

Xmcd supports a CD database feature that records titles, tracks, and other text (ie lyrics, band information). It also supports CD recognition via CDDB: the program can connect to any of the CD database servers on the Internet to get information about a CD when that CD is loaded, and is compatible with many of the security configurations of those databases.
