LPRng supports the following features: lightweight (no databases
needed) lpr, lpc, and lprm programs; dynamic redirection of print
queues; printer pooling and load balancing; automatic job holding;
highly verbose diagnostics; client programs do not need to run SETUID
root; enhanced security checks; load balancing across multiple
printers; and an improved permission and authorization mechanism.
