Invitation to Annual Meeting

All members of the FSF are invited to attend an annual meeting held in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. The meeting is an opportunity for Associate Members to meet each other and discuss current issues with FSF staff and some members of FSF's Board of Directors.

The first meeting was held in March 2003. The second meeting was held on Saturday, March 27, 2004.

20% Discount on GNU Press Purchases

You will receive a 20% discount on all purchases of FSF's GNU Press merchandise.

This discount includes all products sold by FSF — from books to CDs to clothing.

Email Forwarding

You can create and maintain up to five email aliases in the member.fsf.org domain that can forward to other addresses. (Particular email alias name availability is not guaranteed; aliases will be given out on a first-come-first-served basis.)

Bootable Membership Card

You will receive a personalized, bootable, business-card-sized GNU/Linux distribution as your membership card.

This GNU/Linux distribution is based on LNX-BBC. New cards will be sent to renewing members every year if and only if there is a new major release of LNX-BBC.

Biannual FSF Bulletin

FSF publishes a bulletin twice a year to keep our members and donors informed of current FSF activities and efforts. As an Associate Member, you will receive this bulletin (at your choice) via email or postal mail.

Sustaining Support of FSF

Most importantly, you can proudly proclaim that you are helping FSF carry out its mission to preserve, protect, and promote software freedom.

Tax deduction in the USA

FSF is a 501(c)(3) charity in the USA, and therefore your membership dues are fully tax-deductible in the USA.

The estimated value of the membership benefit items is not substantial according to IRS guidelines. Therefore, the full amount of your dues is a tax-deductible contribution to FSF.

Associate Members are non-voting members of the Free Software Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Boston, MA, USA.
